Delivery of Your Cheque Book

If your request for a new cheque book has been accepted, you should receive it within 3 to 5 working days.

Our courier service will only deliver your cheque book to you personally, not to anyone else. We don’t deliver internationally.

Delivery details:

Emirates Islamic partners with JMBR and Aramex courier services for the delivery of cheque books
JMBR Couriers will deliver cheque books for all customer segments except VIP and Private Banking customers
The courier service will contact you via your registered mobile number to schedule delivery.

Reschedule Delivery

You can reschedule delivery of your cheque book within 39 days of the original delivery date. Please contact the courier service directly.

What happens if I’m travelling and can’t reschedule the delivery of my cheque book?

The courier service will return your cheque book to Emirates Islamic after 39 days. You’ll then need to request a new cheque book.

How long will it take before I get a new cheque book?

Once your request has been accepted, your cheque book will be delivered to you in 3 to 5 working days.

I applied for a new cheque book but didn’t receive it. What should I do?

It takes 3 to 5 working days to receive your cheque book by courier. If you haven’t received it, you can track your shipment directly through the courier. If you continue to have problems, call us on +971 600 599 995 and we’ll be happy to help

I urgently need a new cheque book. Can I come to the Bank and get one immediately?

No, you need to apply for a new cheque book, and you’ll receive it within 3 to 5 working days. So, it is best to apply for a new cheque book when you still have some leaves left in your old cheque book.

Can my cheque book have more than 10 leaves?

If you apply for a cheque book within the first six months of opening your account, you will receive our standard cheque book with 10 leaves. If you have had an account with us for more than 6 months, the number of leaves in your cheque book will be issued based on your banking segment.

How soon will the money be in my account when I deposit a cheque?

The processing and clearing time for cheques depends on the type of cheque and the channel used.

How safe are cheques?

All Emirates Islamic cheques have a QR code and an MICR code line to prevent cheques from being duplicated by fraudsters. If you don’t specify a beneficiary on the cheque or make a cheque payable to ‘cash or bearer’, there is always a risk that someone will get hold of the cheque and cash it.

My cheque has been misused; how can I get help?

If you suspect that a cheque has been lost or stolen, you must first file a police report for the lost or stolen cheque and then visit one of our branches with the police report to place a stop payment for any cheques that have not yet presented. Additional documents may be required at the Bank's sole discretion.

Are there any charges for cheque books?

Once you open your current account, you’ll receive your first cheque book free of charge. After that, the charges depend on your banking package with us.

The Bank sent me a cheque book, but I don’t need it. What should I do?

If the Bank has sent you a cheque book without you requesting it, just keep it or destroy it if you don’t have any use for it. You will not be charged for it.
